Food drive bountiful success

The annual KNDU Family Food Drive raised 34,960 pounds of food and $58,000 for Second Harvest Tri-Cities in December. That includes donations from Bechtel National Inc., and URS Washington Division of 28,000 pounds of food and $49,000. The money will help Second Harvest Tri-Cities transport, warehouse and distribute close to 348,000 pounds of donated food to fight hunger in the region, said Kathye Kilgore, Second Harvest, Tri-Cities director.
