Benton County homicide-free in 2009

Friday, January 29th, 2010

With the Tri Cities being one of the safest communities to live in, in spite of a growing population, the area’s ‘top cops’ announced that there were no homicides here in 2009. A strong partnership between the law enforcement agencies and a community of citizens keeping a watchful eye on their neighborhoods are contributing factors.

Benton County’s rate is approximately 1/3 of Washington state’s average of 43 crimes per 1,000 resident, and that being 15 crimes per 1,000.  Law enforcement agencies are working together to keep our communities safe and their hard work has paid off and is much appreciated.

Tax Credit pumps up the volume on Tri City home sales!

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Thw Washington Center for Real Estate Research said recently that homes sold in the 3rd quarter increased over the 2nd quarter this year, and the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit was responsible for that increase of 15.6 percent.

In the Tri-Cities, Washington there was a 20 percent increase of home sales. The strong local economy has really helped out our housing market. According to the Tri-City Association of Realtors, the number of people taking advantage of the tax credit really built up the homes sales in the 3rd quarter.

The extension of the tax credit through April 30, 2010 could continue to help out the housing market here in Kennewick, Pasco and Richland Washington, and of course, nationwide. It’s a great time to buy real estate and we at Distinctive Properties, Inc., are here to help you in anyway we can!
